Our Story

The idea of building an r/c track has been around for many years inside the Goodwine family.  With on road racing on the climb in the world, yet a diminishing number of tracks in southern California, we decided to make the idea a reality!

Steel City R/C Speedway opened in April of 2018. The facility houses a 13 corner 250′ x 125′ paved on-road race track designed to suit anything from 1/10th scale to 1/5th scale radio controlled cars. We are located inside the beautiful Auto Club Speedway, surrounding our participants with a great racing atmosphere. Our goal in opening “SCS” is to give southern California another world class racing facility for years to come.

The track is owned and operated by the Goodwine family. Phil and Kyle Goodwine have a combined 55 years of experience in both remote controlled and full size auto racing. Together, our staff has the ability and resources to host the highest level of racing.
